WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE SHOOT?
Bring treats or a faviourite toy so to encourage engagement with you and recall. If we are on location this will allow us to work together to guide your dog to the ideal spot. Ideally choose toys (and a collar/lead) that are neutral in colour and that won’t distract from the shot.
DOES BAD WEATHER AFFECT THE SHOOT?
If we are in the studio for a portrait shot, the weather is not a factor. If we are on location, unless it is torrential rain, your photoshoot won’t be cancelled. Animals and children don’t mind the rain – and I will find ways to make the most of the weather conditions. Bright sunny days are the least ideal from a photography point of view – so clouds are a bonus – and umbrellas make fantastic props! For outdoor shots, ideal light conditions are found just after sunrise and before sunset. Family photography sessions that take place around these times are always the most atmospheric in terms of capturing beautiful light.
HOW DO I PREPARE MY DOG FOR A STUDIO DOG PORTRAIT SESSION
Make sure that your dog has been on a long walk – followed by a wash to clean their coat prior to the shoot. If in doubt then head to VIP pets in Hitchin for a 5 star doggy makeover prior to your portrait session!
WILL YOU ASK FOR MY PERMISSION TO USE IMAGES TAKEN ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
I will always ask your permission to use any of the photographs from your shoot for my website or social media. You have every right to deny me that permission and are under no obligation to allow me to use them. Immediately after your photography session I will offer a ‘sneak peak’ on my social media pages that you are welcome to share with friends and family if you so wish.
