SAFETY AND YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION WITH ME
The current situation of Covid 19 means that safety measures and restrictions are changing all the time. I will be keeping up to date and adhering to these measures – such as social distancing of 2 metres. This safety measure is most viable on outdoor shoots, and therefore all family and headshot / personal branding shoots will be held outdoors for the time being. I have a 135mm lens that is ideal for keeping distance whilst giving a very desirable background blur to your images. At this time of year the best light conditions are in the evening, so with a start time of 7pm onwards there will be far less chance of crowds. Bespoke outdoor beginners photography training can also take place – with a maximum of 3 people, as can outdoor headshot and branding shoots.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR AN OUTDOOR SHOOT
Prior to the photoshoot I will call you for a chat and to get an idea of what you would ideally like to gain from the shoot. A digital copy of my contract will also be sent to you, allowing you to sign online and accept or decline the various options relating to the use of images for marketing purposes. On the day of the shoot I will refrain from wearing a face mask unless specifically requested – as these are not compulsory in outdoor spaces and restrict the level of natural interaction that we can have. If at any point you feel unsafe or unwell on your shoot it can be cancelled and rescheduled at no extra cost to yourself. Ideal light conditions will be just before sunset – so an optimal start time of around 7pm will lessen the chance of crowds. My own family are adhering to all the safety guidelines and restrictions and I will take all necessary measures to ensure you feel at ease on your photoshoot.

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?
Within 15 miles of Hitchin for the prices as listed. Beach shoots are located in Norfolk.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ON THE SHOOT?
Bring warm and comfortable layers, and for children a spare pair of clothes is a good idea. Try to avoid bold patterns, logo’s and stripes – which can all be distracting to the eye. Think about the season and the colours that you can see around you – try to reflect those colours in the clothes you wear. Take a look at my pintrest board for inspiration to complement the seasons. I will offer further advice around clothing during out initial consultation – which is covered in the creative fee.
DOES BAD WEATHER AFFECT THE SHOOT?
Unless it is torrential rain your photoshoot won’t be cancelled. Shots of children holding umbrellas and jumping in puddles are lots of fun – and I will find ways to make the most of the weather conditions. Bright sunny days are the least ideal from a photography point of view – so clouds are a bonus! Even on an overcast day, top shade is preferable to prevent unflattering shadows on faces. Shade can be found under trees and other areas of cover such as doorways and umbrellas. Ideal light conditions are found just after sunrise and before sunset. Family photography sessions that take place around these times are always the most atmospheric in terms of capturing beautiful light.
CAN I RESCHEDULE THE SHOOT DUE TO ILLNESS?
At this time I would appreciate you cancelling the shoot if any member of your family is showing even mild signs of a cough or cold – this is a protective measure due to Covid 19. The creative fee is non refundable however as a mother of young children I understand that illness can strike – and often does – at the most inopportune of times. I will be most sympathetic to your situation and we can rearrange your shoot at no additional cost to you.
WILL YOU ASK FOR MY PERMISSION TO USE IMAGES TAKEN ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
I will always ask your permission to use any of the photographs from your shoot for my website or social media. You have every right to deny me that permission and are under no obligation to allow me to use them. Immediately after your photography session I will offer a ‘sneak peak’ on my social media pages that you are welcome to share with friends and family if you so wish.
